When I was a child, we lived near a medical center that housed ambulances. Every time we would walk past I noticed the symbol on the medical vans, two serpents wrapped around a staff with wings. I asked my mother what that symbol meant, and she explained that it is a symbol for life. She also explained that it was a symbol for what some people believe as a god that gives life. I didn’t give it much thought but knew what it meant every time I saw it. I often wondered if the people that adorned this symbol in the medical field worshipped this god. I never sought that answer; but knowing me and my curiosity I probably will seek it, eventually.
A few months ago I came across the god Enki when someone posted it in a picture on one of the famous social sites. You know the one that allows people to like their pics and videos that resemble nothing of their reality. I felt a familiarity with the god and searched him on the internet. I saw many stories of him being a god to being mischievous to being a life giver to being the devil. So, I looked at his name and also noticed he had a number as his name. A secret number, actually a few names that looked, to me, as elements.
Me being observant and curious, and my sheer love of research took a chance and dared to build a theory of this god.
First, I looked at the spelling E-n-k-I. What an interesting combination of letters. I know in physics E is representive of energy. Energy is also known as life. O.k. that makes sense in conjunction with the story of Enki being a creator of life.
Then, I looked at the N. Keeping this in the “science” realm I looked at my periodic table and N is nitrogen. Nitrogen is found in food. Food is vital for life. Makes sense to me so far of how Enki is considered a life giver, or perhaps is composed of nitrogen.
Next, I went on to the K. Potassium, an alkali metal which oxidizes or looses electrons rapidly in air. Potassium is very soft and burns if heated, turning to a bright orange. Although potassium, which is very similar–chemically–to sodium, is found in seawater, when it is solid form it will combust into a lilac color flame, when added to water. As explained at daily motion.
Finally the letter I. Iodine, found in seawater, is not made by the human body but is necessary for a healthy thyroid which helps the body use energy, stay warm, and keep the brain, heart, muscles and other organs working in accordance to their design. As found at thyroid.org . Iodine gives a purple color in gas form.
Just looking at those factors, and comparing stories of Enki being said to live under the ocean, and being associated with semen and amniotic fluid, which contains, or produced by using, some of the elements in his name; perhaps this is what our ancestors are telling us. These minerals are the key to sustain life or to bring forth life.
However, if Enki did indeed ascend from the bottom of the ocean he would have to be super strong to burst through the earth that is weighed down by all that water. I mean, the ocean is super huge and water is very heavy. Not only that, it’s pretty darn hot under the earth. So I looked at his secret number. Number 40. This number on the periodic table is Zirconium. The most important source of Zirconium is Zircon, which means “gold color” in Persian; however, Zirconium is greyish white and as a metal can with stand extreme temperatures of heat and is resistant to corrosion by alkalis, acids, and salt water. It is often used to glaze ceramic that will be used in high heat.
Now to get to the point. If Enki is made of all these elements that disintegrate in the water he must pass through and the temperature in Sumer is probably pretty hot too. I think this would be an excellent reason to reside underground. My analysis is, if he had to be in the elements he had to be able to survive and not either burst into flame or fade away in the hot blazing climate, after all desert 85 degrees is not the same as city 85 degrees, and underground hot is not the same as either. I have to bring in the fact that zirconium can be made into glass, which would be helpful in coating his body to help in survival through the seawater and into the air. At first I thought he would be made of sand, which contains all of the elements mentioned and can be made into glass as well but found that the glass madewith zirconium is stronger. Using either element to make glass requires extremely high temperatures of heat, thus, I believe the devil theory comes in. You know, made of fire, or lives in fire/hell/underground; however, there are many beliefs of what or who the devil is.
Well, this is my short theory of Enki. I believe no study could ever be final, for we have barely scratched the surface to our own existence, so just think of how far we may be to those that have come before us. There are many beliefs and I respect them all. This is just a theory that makes sense to me. Please do not take this story as fact but as possibility. If anything doesn’t resonate with you, please do share your information as I love to learn, or do your own research and find sources that satisfy your understanding.
